The weather lately has been very hot with occasional thunder
storms. Swimming in Lake Erie is possible if one can dodge the storms. Three
websites can help you track what’s going on with the lake.
The most powerful is http://weather.weatherbug.com/.
Enter your zip code and you will get the latest weather forecast. Click on maps
to see where the storms are. It’s very useful.
For a look at the lake’s surface conditions, go to the Bay
Boat Club DockCam at http://bayboatclub.org/Dockcam.htm.
It’s just a snapshot but it’s worth the visit.
Finally, the State of Ohio tests the quality of the water at
its many beaches. It then predicts water quality for the next day or so. It’s
called NowCast. For the Edgewater State Park NowCast, go to http://www.ohionowcast.info/nowcast_edgewater.asp.
